Books in Order: Comprehensive Reading Guide for Robert M. Edsel's Works

Before writing, Robert M. Edsel was a nationally ranked tennis player and later built a career in oil exploration — an unlikely runway into nonfiction about art preservation during World War II. He founded the Monuments Men Foundation for the Preservation of Art, and split years between Florence, Italy, and his hometown of Dallas, Texas.

His debut, Rescuing Da Vinci, appeared in 2006. This guide runs four of his nonfiction books on the same subject, from that debut through 2019's The Greatest Treasure Hunt in History.
