Twelve years in the UK police force came before S.R. White's MA in Creative Writing from Nottingham Trent University, a pivot that led directly to Hermit, his 2020 debut. The book was a finalist for the Crime Writers' Association award and reached the top ten on Australian bestseller lists.

He now lives in Queensland, drawing inspiration from his surroundings for each new book. This guide runs all three Detective Dana Russo novels in publication order, from that debut through 2023's Red Dirt Road.
