Robert Low spent years as a war journalist in Vietnam, Sarajevo, Romania, and Kosovo before turning to historical fiction full-time in 2007. He's Scottish, and stays close to his subject matter through historical reenactment with a group called The Vikings.
His debut, The Whale Road, launched the Oathsworn series that year. This guide runs a later trilogy instead: A Dish of Spurs (2020) through Shake Loose the Border (2021), part of his Border Reivers books, read in the order they were published.
