Kate Sedley is one of several pen names used by the English novelist Brenda Margaret Lilian Honey Clarke, who also published as Brenda Honeyman and Brenda Clarke over a long career in historical fiction. Educated at the Red Maids' School in Westbury-on-Trym and based in Bristol, she's best known today for the Roger the Chapman mysteries, introduced in 1991 under the Sedley name.
This guide covers an earlier pair of novels, though: Richmond and Elizabeth (1967) and The Warrior King, also published as Harry the King (1970) — historical fiction from earlier in a career that would go on to span decades and several different bylines.
