Sandra Dallas spent a decade as a journalist at Business Week, reporting on penny-stock scams, hard-rock mining, and Western energy development — material that later fed directly into her historical fiction. She published her first book, the nonfiction title Gaslights and Gingerbread, in 1965, but didn't turn to novels until 1990's Buster Midnight's Cafe.
This guide runs all twenty-three of her novels since, through 2023's Where Coyotes Howl — more than three decades of fiction grounded in real research, including The Persian Pickle Club, still one of her best-known titles. She lives in Denver with her husband, Bob, and their two grown daughters.
