Genre labels don't quite fit Robert Rankin, so he invented his own: "Far-Fetched Fiction," a blend of science fiction, the occult, urban legend, humor, metafiction, and steampunk that he'd like to see get its own section in book stores someday. He grew up in Brentford, a London suburb that recurs throughout his work, including the Brentford, Cornelius Murphy, and Japanese Devil Fish Girl series.
He published his first novel, The Antipope, in 1981. This guide covers all ten Brentford books released between then and 2019's The Chronicles of Banarnia.
