Life and Fame: Author Ibi Zoboi
Born in scenic Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Ibi Zoboi later moved to New York with her family at a tender age of four. Zoboi was drawn to the magic of words and narratives early in life, eventually earning her MFA in writing for children & Young Adults from the prestigious Vermont College of Fine Arts.
Apart from being a well-known author, Zoboi is also a dedicated educator and has been instrumental in setting up enriching community-based programs for teenage girls. Her efforts have been acknowledged with grants from the Brooklyn Arts Council.
Today, Zoboi lives a happy and fulfilling life in Maplewood, New Jersey, together with her husband and their children.
